When my kid was born, my mom gave me lessons from Dr. Becky Bailey's "I Love You Rituals" - taking everyday and mundane moments like diaper changes, brushing teeth, and bath time, and turning them into opportunities to connect. His get-ready time remains an "I Love You ritual" - when I comb his long, curly, often tangly hair in the morning, I remember that this is our connection time, and it gives me a little extra patience with his 9-year-old wiggles. I'm a taskmaster by nature, so it's a way to keep my time anxiety down a notch, too. And everyone is better for it.

You just gotta find the order of disorder.

Super imaginative way to spark love. Starting with your toes, I see the wiggle almost as an "on" switch, not that you need it.

I agree with you on not getting on board the whole "Love" concept feeling.

The word "loving" helps (what is it with parsing words, ha!) because it sounds like it's in action, adn undulating. Once I heard a teacher talk about "good will" and I thought that was a nice, practical way to talk about being loving.

I wonder if love boggles the mind because it is un-understandable, that which can't be known because all of life is love, and we just ripple in and out of it.

I dunno... just some thoughts. Thanks for this. Wiggling my cold toes as I type!
